What is Juna Fitness?

The fitness portion of Juna is trimester specific workouts designed to evolve with your growing body. When you sign up, you will enter your baby’s due date (or birthday if you’re a postpartum mama) and the app will automatically recommend your starting place.

Is there any equipment required to do the workouts?

The below are recommended, however you can do all of the exercises with just your bodyweight.

  • A set of light & Medium dumbbells (anywhere from 3lbs to 10lbs depending on your fitness level).
  • Loop bands
  • Chair for balance

What types of workouts are available?

Juna has workouts for each stage of your pregnancy and postpartum journey. The Juna workouts are guided video based workouts that focus on high repetitions and low weight.

Pregnancy Workouts:
Each trimester has the below 6 workouts, but the exercises within the workouts change and progress based on the stage of your pregnancy.

Barilates – a low impact workout that fuses the principles of Barre and Pilates and helps you build strength and flexibility

Core – core focused workout on strengthening your transverse abdominis and pelvic floor

Cardio – get your heart rate up and build stamina

Total Body – Use compound movements so you can efficiently and effectively get a full body workout

Lower Body – Build strength in your lower body targeting the glutes, hamstrings and quads

Upper Body – This workout is designed to tone and strengthen your arms and shoulders.

Postpartum Recovery: For 0-6 Weeks Postpartum
Our recommendation is to get started with our pelvic floor exercises right away. Getting blood flow to the area will help with the healing process. Each day there are 10-15 minutes of pelvic floor strengthening exercises and recommended walks.

Postpartum Workouts: Our postpartum workouts follow the same workout schedule as the pregnancy workouts.

Postpartum 1 – This program is designed for week 6-15. As soon as you are cleared to exercise by your healthcare provider. It is a 10 week program and is designed to ease you back into training post pregnancy. There is a lot of focus on rebuilding the core and pelvic floor as well as rebuilding general strength. There are also exercise suggestions and modifications available to you if you have Diastasis Recti or Urinary Incontinence. Once you complete Postpartum 1 you can move onto Postpartum 2. If you do not feel ready to move on you can continue doing Postpartum 1 workouts until you feel ready to graduate to Postpartum 2.

Postpartum 2 – This program is designed for weeks 16 and beyond. This progresses the exercises from Postpartum 1 and ramps up the training quite a bit. There are also exercise suggestions and modifications available to you if you have Diastasis Recti or Urinary Incontinence.

If you are just getting back into exercise we recommend regardless of your week to start with Postpartum 1 workouts. These workouts will help prepare your body for the more rigorous Postpartum 2 workouts.
